DISHING OUT of money as payment for voters during the election period will only destroy the future image of our country.

Malaitan Premier, Richard Irosaea uttered prior to the upcoming National General Election.

“Solomon Islanders must change their attitude if they want to see good change in Solomon Islands”.

He said there are many questions that Solomon Islanders should ask themselves such as, what does the national general election have for us?

“What are the changes we as Solomon Islanders need? Or how will the changes take place? Or what has the national parliament done for us in the last four years?”

Voters must not treat this up coming elections as they did for the past elections, we should be ready to face the challenge that is in front of us and choose the best leaders or worse ones, said Premier Irosaea.

Voters must not accept any form of money and vote for the candidate who gave them money, he stressed.

Such gifts will ruin the future of our children, their children and their grandchildren, he further stressed.

Buying of votes is not a good practice for a good leader, who wants to represent his or her constituency in the National Parliament for the next four years, said Mr Irosaea.

“This is corruption, and how can you expect such people getting into Parliament to address the issue of corruption whilst they practice it to get in there,” he said.

“I must warn my good people of Solomon Islands to refrain from these bad practices otherwise we will stir our country to a wrong direction.”

We must rethink and make good decisions in this up coming national general election or else we will remain the same as in the past, added Mr Irosaea.

National general elections was unofficially set for August 4th.
