THE TOBACCO Control Bill which comes under parliament debate recently is now an act.
This was reveal by the Minister for Health, Clay Forau on Monday during an occasion to mark this year’s World No Tobacco Day.
Mr Forau said he had successfully brought the Tobacco Control Bill to parliament and is now an act.
He said soon, his ministry would begin preparing tobacco control regulations.
He said the ministry would ensure these regulations come into action in order to facilitate and support the Tobacco Control Act.
He said the ministry hopes to review other required regulations that will be required to promote health in our communities.
“We need a healthy population to help develop our nation so that it can become prosperous,” Mr Forau added.
